Life in any research lab involves hard work. We have gone to great lengths to make sure that our space supports our science. For example, we conduct phase sensitive interferometric measurements to tease out excited state dynamics in biological systems; therefore, our labs have been carefully designed for stability to permit optical femtosecond interferometry. We also get quite good at working in the dark -- almost everything we work with is light-sensitive. It's fun, and there's something new to explore every day.
